Embracing Time-Honored Traditions: A New Year’s Celebration in Coronado
As the curtain falls on 2023, we stand on the threshold of a new chapter, eagerly awaiting the arrival of 2024.
In the heart of Coronado, a coastal gem in Panama, our community is gearing up to embrace the rich tapestry of traditions that make New Year’s Eve a truly magical experience.
One of the most enchanting customs that grace our coastal landscape is the tradition of life-size dolls. Adorning the highways, these symbolic figures represent the passing year. As the clock strikes midnight, these dolls, whether filled with fireworks or set ablaze, symbolize a collective desire for a fresh start, unburdened by the remnants of the old year. It is not just a spectacle but a poignant expression of hope and renewal.
In the spirit of Panamanian folklore, we embrace the age-old tradition of eating 12 grapes during the countdown. Each grape is a nod to the months that lie ahead, with some indulging in an extra one for an added dose of luck. It is a ritual that transcends time, connecting us to our roots and fostering a sense of shared optimism.
Against the backdrop of our pristine beaches, Coronado comes alive with vibrant festivities. White parties, dances, bonfires, and the resplendent burst of fireworks paint the night sky. Our beach, a gathering place for families and friends, becomes a canvas where memories are etched against the rhythmic symphony of the waves.
Join us in ushering in the New Year at the Coronado Beach Club’s White Party Night on December 31st, from 8:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. This is not just a celebration; it’s an invitation to be part of a community that embraces diversity and joy. A welcome cocktail, buffet dinner, open bar, live DJ, and cherished NYE traditions await. The cost is $100 per person for members and guests.
Let’s welcome 2024 with a sense of togetherness at the Coronado Beach Club’s beachside brunch. Indulge in decadence, raise your mimosas, and toast to new beginnings as the sun kisses the ocean on the first day of the year.
