The Ministry of Public Works (MOP) has awarded the project for the Expansion of the Beaches Corridor to Constructora MECO, SA, which submitted the lowest financial proposal during the bidding process.
Authorities of Arraiján, attribute the flood registered on the Pan-American highway on June 10th, to the felling of trees in the area to extend the road to eight lanes.
The first section of the beach corridor begins in La Chorrera, up to the community of Santa Cruz, and the second extends to the town of San Carlos.
Work on wooded areas located on the Pa American Highway has begun for the expansion on the Arraiján - Puente de las Américas stretch.
Over the next four years, the country of Panama aims to improve connectivity and road infrastructure from Panama City to the Pacific Beach area.
