Venezuela response to Panama’s visa
As of October 1, Panama requires Venezuelans to have a visa to enter the country. 15 days following Panama’s new visa requirements for Venezuelans, Venezuela answered back, with visas for Panamanians.
This Venezuelan resolution, published in Official Gazette No. 41,257 , was signed by the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and for Interior Relations, Justice and Peace of Venezuela. To acquire this visa Venezuelans and Panamanians will have to request an appointment at the respective embassies in their countries and meet a list of requirements to qualify for a visa.
Venezuela announced that it would take this action August 23, after the announcement by president Juan Carlos Varela of a visa for Venezuelans. The Venezuelan government accused Varela of following the orders of the United States and that for that reason it took that migratory measure.
