Over 1000 accidents in Panama during Carnival
Jose Donderis, director of the National System for Civil Protection (Sinaproc) announced that there were a total of 1,024 accidents during Carnival in Panama this year (2017).
One of the last reported incidents took place February 28th in Capira Panama West. Eight people were injured after a bus of 15 passengers over turned. The accident occurred where the inversion of lanes begin directing the flow of traffic towards the city.
There were five deaths over carnival that were traffic related. The first traffic related fatality was reported in the province of Cocle. A 63-year-old woman was hit by a vehicle in the doorway of her house. The driver of the car was a 29-year-old male who lost control of his vehicle.
