Conman returns to Colombia to serve 22 years

Colombian national David Murcia Guzmán, was arrested in Panama November 2008 for scamming Panamanians and expats with a DMG pyramid operation.

 Guzman, now 37 years old, is leaving his U.S. jail cell to complete his sentence in his home country. Saturday, Nov. 11, Guzman will be transferred from Moshannon Valley, Pennsylvania, after serving six years and two days these.

In January 2010 he was extradited to the US, where he was tried for money laundering. Initially, the US attorney’s office wanted a 20-year sentence, however, the sentence was reduced to nine years in a plea deal. Then Guzman received time off for good behavior, reducing his sentence in the U.S. to 6 years and 2 days. 

On Saturday, Guzman will be transferred to an immigration detention center in the US, where he will await deportation proceedings to Colombia. Once he arrives in his home country he will serve the remainder of his 22-year sentence there.  was reduced to nine 

According to Colombian media, the issue that worries the con artist is his safety when it returns to his country of origin.
