Panama moves Black Friday to September

Panama Tourism Authority (ATP) has decided to move Black Friday to mid-September, in an effort to increase sales during this period in Panama.

“Black Friday Weekend’ will take place from September 15th until September 17th, where shoppers will have the opportunity to find deals via a website set up by the Panamanian tourism board, with info on discounts and participating locations.

Visit compras.visitpanama.com to see that is available on sale during Panama’s Black Friday weekend.

The goal of ATP is to attract visitors from Bolivia, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic.

The online platform offers deals up to 70% off provided by hotels, restaurants, car rental companies, events and stores.

The site will also provide a map highlighting the routes to the 12 shopping centers in the country that will sell branded products and technology.

Panama’s Consumer Protection Authority (ACADECO) will closely monitor the shopping days and participants to ensure that advertisers live up to their promises.

Participating malls include Albrook Mall, Westland Mall, Multiplaza, Los Andes Mall, Dorado Mall, Alta Plaza, Mega Mall, Los Pueblos, Atrio Mall, Paseo Central (Chitré) and Santiago Mall.

Doors to the public from 9:00 a.m. throughout the shopping holiday.
