Hurricane Otto Category 2 storm nears landfall

Thursday morning winds increased to 110 mph making Hurricane Otto a Category 2 storm as it neared landfall in Central America. 

November 22nd at 4:00 p.m. Tropical Storm Otto strengthened to become a hurricane, when maximum sustained winds reached 75 mph (120 kph). 

The center of Otto, expected to move onshore at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, will reach the Pacific coast of southern Nicaragua and northern Costa Rica by Thursday evening or early Friday.

The storm has affected 6 provinces in Panama, with Colon being the hardest hit. At least 150 families in Colon have been affected, there have been 70 fallen trees and 15 roofs destroyed.
