Fashion Week Lights Up Panama City

By: Frank Corbett (StarfirePhotography.net)The Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Panama 2015 (MBFWP) took place last week, coming to an end over the weekend.

The event was an opportunity for some of the world’s top and aspiring designers. Once again, the show opened with Naeem Khan on the 27th Oct and closed on the 29th of Oct with Shantall Lacayo. Other top designers featured in this year’s MBFWP were: Pilar Sainz, Carol Ginter and Alessandra Grau. There were also  exhibitions from Timberland and Praha.

The year the runway had a unique stage layout, different from previous years. The new layout allowed for a big screen that showed some excellent photographic images to accompany the models.

This year like last, designs were very bright and very wearable, highlighting a sense fashion that has been cultivated on the isthmus of Panama.

The event shines light on cultural development occurring in Panama City. By mixing and blending different art forms, with influences from Panama’s indigenous communities, Panamanian designers have presented these ideas to the world in a most beautiful way.
