Proposed route for Panama-Chiriqui train
A feasibility study carried out by Chinese experts is currently developing a possible route and stations for the train that could further connectivity between the interior of Panama to its capital.
A feasibility study carried out by Chinese experts is currently developing a possible route and stations for the train that could further connectivity between the interior of Panama to its capital.
The study, financed by China will have at least 16 stations, which are already under review.
If the project is completed, the route would be Panama, Arraiján, La Chorrera, Chame, San Carlos, Rio Hato, Penonomé, Aguadulce, Santa María, Santiago, Soná, Puerto Vidal, Tolé, Cerrillos, La Gloria, and David.
The project purposes to have both freight trains and passenger cars.
The project just one of the 22 agreements signed between Panama and the People’s Republic of China since the two countries established diplomatic relations.
