Jewish Holidays

With Rosh Hashanah & Yom Kipur behind us, the next Jewish holiday to come will be Sukkot falling on September 19 (fifteen days after Yom Kipur). Like all Jewish holidays, Sukkot begins at sun down the day before stated on the calendar (this year, Sept 18). Work is not permitted on the first and second day of Sukkot, so expect some businesses to be closed on September 18 & 19. Sukkot lasts for seven days. The two days following the festival, Shemini Atzert and Simchat Torah, are actually separate holidays, but are commonly thought of as part of Sukkot. This year Shmini Atzeret will fall on September 26 and Simchat Torah will fall on September 27, except some businesses to be closed for both of these holidays.
