1 large onion diced
1 tablespoon olive oil
3 lbs. lean ground beef
1 packet chili spice (I used “hot”)
½ cup water
3 cans of beans (red, black and white)
1 can chopped tomatoes
2 bottles of salsa (I used “medium”)
1 ½ teaspoon cumin
3 tablespoon brown sugar
Dash of salt
In a large pot, sauté onion in a splash of olive oil on medium high heat until transparent. Add ground beef and sauté until browned. Add packet of chili spice and water and heat until it simmers. Add beans, tomatoes, salsa, cumin, brown sugar and mix in all ingredients well. Simmer on lower heat for a couple of hours and taste; add a dash of salt if needed.
Salsa is the secret ingredient.
