Why Panama made Vogue in 2019

Panama City will see it’s 500th birthday this year, and according to Vogue’s travel section, 2019 is a great year to check out Panama! From the capital city to remote islands we’re offically in Vogue!

Since most travelers start their journey in Panama City, the popular publication recommended, of course, the every growing Casco Viejo. The article, Why Panama is the place to go in 2019, spoke to the cultural development of Casco calling it "stylish hotspot" while recognizing the area’s UNESCO World Heritage status. 

Vogue compared some of Casco’s best dining options to NYC’s The Strangers Club, restaurants that made the list included Casco’s fine dining restaurant Donde José, Mahalo and even a gastronomical experience that is more of a local one, Fonda Lo Que Hay.

The place to stay in Casco, The American Trade Hotel came recomended along with some new eco-resorts in Gulf of Chiriquí. 

While Isla Palenque, has been around for years offering luxurious eco-friendly escapes, they renewed their offerings in 2018 with eight new beachfront villas. The article spoke to monkeys outnumbering humans, which if you’ve had the pleasure of exploring Palenque you’ll know, is not an understatement. Isla Palenque is also unique in that the resort aims to improve environmental awareness in the region. In 2019 another resort will open its doors on the same pristine coast.  Islas Secas Reserve & Lodge is solar-powered resort by billionaire conservationist Louis Bacon, and is already taking reservations!
