A dry Easter for the district of Panama

While the rain might not arrive by Easter, the "dry" we’re speaking about here is sale and consumption of liquor at least in the district of Panama.

The mayor of Panama, Raisa Banfield, has just announced the suspension of activities related to the sale and consumption of liquor on April 19 from 12:01 am to 12:00 midnight the same day.

The mayoral decree N ° 014, which was published on April 3 in the Official Gazette, also orders the closure of canteens, bars, nightclubs, barbecues and cevicherías during this period.

The norm in its article 3 orders "the suspension of danceable activities, ’karaokes’ or concerts enlivened by orchestras, ensembles, mobile units and other means of diffusion of music".

Failure to comply with this rule infringers will be punished with fines ranging from 100 to 1,000 dollars.
