Volunteers collect 33,000 pounds of trash

As part of the "Days in the Diocese" activities preceding the Pope’s arrival 33,000 pounds of garbage were collected from the Costa del Este boardwalk in Juan Diaz.

The waste was collected by more than a thousand volunteers visiting Panama to participate in the WYD.

The activity was coordinated by the non-governmental organization Fundación Eco Creando.

Querube Alvarado, of the foundation, reported that the cleaning took place in four hours of work!
