Police Unit to Work with Women
Panama has created a specialized National Police unit to deal with cases of gender and the protection of women.
This Unit Specialized in Gender Violence will be differentiated will a grey sleeve.
The director of the National Institute of Women (Inamu), Liriola Leoteau, said that these 190 National Police agents come to reinforce the coordinated work that, for the benefit of women, carried out with the security entity.
More than 700 hours of training - since 2016 - have been received by the National Police agents by the Inamu technical staff, which included topics on human rights, gender and the accusatory criminal system.
