Government delivers 400 apartments

On Monday, the President of the Republic, Juan Carlos Varela, delivered the first 400 apartments of the Ciudad Esperanza residential complex, in the district of Arraiján.

According to a statement from the Presidency, these first 400 apartments benefit approximately two thousand Panamanians.


The complex, which occupies a plot of 36 hectares, will have 2,250 apartments in 68 buildings of five levels each. They will have all the necessary features to improve the quality of life of more than eleven thousand Panamanians, the statement said.

The building complex has two models of apartments: two-bedroom, which measures 48 square meters, and the three-bedroom, 57-square-meter. The ground floor of each of the towers will be destined to seniors or  disabled.

In addition, the project will have public infrastructures, such as the first headquarters of the University of Panama in Arraiján, a Mortgage Bank and a police station. The city will have land destined for recreational and sports activities.

For the construction of this housing complex, the State invested $ 137 million, and 643 workers worked. According to the presidency statement, the project significantly decreases the country’s housing deficit.

Ciudad Esperanza is one of the 100 thousand homes managed in the country by the current government administration, which will benefit more than 500 thousand people, according to the presidential communiqué.
