Reggae singer back to jail

Court of Appeals orders that El Tachi serve his sentence in prison

The Public Prosecutor’s Office (MP) reported on Friday, June 22 that the Superior Court of Appeals revoked the community work ruling  of reggae singer Eustacio Guerra Saldaña, better known as El Tachi, and ordered that he serve his prison sentence of 60 months for the possession of an illicit weapon.

During the hearing, it was reported that the time spent on community work carried out would be subtracted from the sentence.

During the hearing on June 15, the prosecutor Patricia Herrera presented a report from the National Police with a letter from the affected police agent, with whom the singer had an altercation. Herrera also provided documentation provided by the Department of Information and Public Relations of the Attorney General’s Office, which indicates that the singer was detained on May 31 on Avenue B, allegedly for disturbing public order.
