5 tourists rescued from top of  Barú volcano

The general director of the National System of Civil Protection (Sinaproc), José Donderis , reported that thit was possible to locate the five tourists who were with hypothermia and problems to descen



 José Donderis,the general director of the National System of Civil Protection (Sinaproc), , reported that they located five tourists who were standed  and suffered hypothermia at the top of the Barú volcano din the Chiriqui province.  A warning was issued  for the next 96 hours due to high rains


Donderis says that tourists are stable. They were taken to a climate-controlled and safe place, in order to be evaluated and to subsequently continue their descent with the rescue team.

 The official reiterated in his Twitter account that he asks citizens to be "responsible and respectful  following the fact that a prevention warning had been issued regarding the increase in rainfall in the country.

The Sinaproc director said in the late hours of Saturday, May 26, that due to  heavy rains, members of the Sinaproc, MiAmbiente, National Police and the National Aeronaval Service (Senan) risked their lives in otfrt  to locate the five tourists and their guide who were at the top of the Baru volcano.
