Sinaproc warning - Intense rain in the Caribbeans

The National Emergency Operations Center of the National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc) reported that a warning of prevention is in force due to the intensification of rains over the country.

The report refers to the subtropical storm Alberto, the first of the cyclone season in the northeast of the Caribbean.

A communiqué from Sinaproc claims that the subtropical storm Alberto will not directly influence Panama. The rains over the country will be recorded as weather conditions typical of the time.

For Saturday, May 26, unstable conditions in the Caribbean are forecast to be cloudy with rains  in some areas of Colon and Guna Yala.

For  the Pacific side, it is expected to have a few hours of the morning for the coasts and the low lands of Chiriquí, south of Veraguas and Darién.  On Sunday, May 27, on the Caribbean side, moderate rains are expected until late at night, mainly in the west of the country.

On the Pacific side, unstable conditions are estimated; in the afternoon accumulated highs are forecast from Chiriqui to central provinces but isolated downpours in the rest of the country.

José Donderis, CEO of Sinaproc, said the teams will be constantly monitored and are ready to provide assistance in affected areas.
