Drug bust and arrest in Coclé

A 28-year-old man was arrested in Natá in a joint operation conducted by the National Anti-Drug department of the National Police and the Public Ministry of Coclé.

A 28-year-old man was arrested in Natá in a joint operation conducted by the National Anti-Drug department of the National Police and the Public Ministry of Coclé. 

The National Police confiscated “65 packages of alleged drugs” according to statements and carried out the arrest of the 28-year-old man. 

According to reports from the police, the accused was traveling, in a Hyundai truck in the early morning hours of Wednesday, February 21st, on the Inter-American highway. 

After the vehicle was stopped, two suitcases were found, one pink and the other blue, both closed adhesive tape. The packages containing illicit substance were inside the suitcases. 

The driver has been brought before the judge of guarantees, and the judge will determine the provisional detention for the duration of the investigation.
