A 54-year-old woman Panamanian woman lost her life undergoing plastic surgery in Venezuela. The woman’s death has started a flurry of warnings from various sources cautioning against the dangers of undergoing medical procedures abroad, particularly in Venezuela.
The latest death occurred in Maturín, capital of the Monagas state where Judicial authorities have opened an investigation, to determine the cause of the woman’s death.
La Prensa reports sources revealed that the surgeon in question did not have a good track record, with two deaths, one patient in a coma. Another two of the doctor’s patients were left with infected wounds due to a lack of prescribed antibiotics and another was apparently the victim of an assault upon leaving the clinic.
The informants told La Prensa they wished to remain anonymous but wanted to warn the Panamanian population about the risk of going to a foreign country to undergo surgery.
