5 Panamanians nominated for Latin Grammys

Panamanian singer-songwriters Rubén Blades, Roberto Delgado, Erika Ender and Ricardo and Alberto Gaitán have been nominated for Latin Grammy Awards.

The announcement came on the morning of Tuesday, September 26th, the Latin Grammy Awards will take place on November 16th in Vegas.

While five Panamanians have received nominations, there are eight Latin Grammy nominations. These nominations fall under the categories of recording of the year, the song of the year, best singer album, best salsa album and best contemporary tropical album.

Blades and Delgado share nominations in the categories album of the year and best salsa album. Blades is also nominated for the recording of the year with La cinnamon flower.

Ender is nominated for the song Despacito (that Canadian Justin Bieber has made popular) in the song category of the year. Also on the Despacito nomination are Puerto Ricans Daddy Yankee and Luis Fonsi.

In addition, Ender is nominated in the best singer-songwriter album category with the album Tatuajes.

Brothers Ricardo and Alberto Gaitán have nominated again this year in the category best contemporary tropical album with La Parranda.
