Gas prices rise in Panama

Friday, September 15th gas prices will be going up. The Secretariat of Energy reported Wednesday, that prices will increase up to 13 cents a liter. However, the prices will differ depending on location.

A liter of 95 octane gas will cost 89 cents, 91octane 79 cents, and diesel 67 cents in Panama City. Elsewhere in the country prices will be higher, depending on the distance from the original distribution center says The Secretariat Energy. According to the Secretariat, the increased cost, that will remain until September 29, is a result of Hurricane Harvey.

“It should be noted that the fuel distribution companies operating in Panama buy gasoline and diesel from refineries affected by the climatic events recorded weeks ago,” the authority said.
