Minsa Announces Green Alert for Carnival

A green alert has been issued by Panama’s Ministry of Health (Minsa) for Carnival in Panama. The green alert includes all 15 health regions and will last from 7:00 am Friday morning until March 1 2017.

What does the green alert mean? For one there will be more health officers on duty. In total there will be 5000 officers in 93 heath centers and 20 hospitals, open 24 hours. Furthermore these health centers will allow patients who require medical attention care, even if they do not have Seguro (Social Security) according to Miguel Mayo , Minsa director.

"Anyone who goes to a facility has to be taken care of," Mayo said. He added that that if problems arise, those affected will should report to the 311 Citizen Care Center.
