David Viteri acquitted of attempted murder charges

Former U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) informant, David Viteri was acquitted of the attempted murder of three men January 31st 2017.

  During the hearing that began at 3:41 p.m. Viteri was found not guilty after he pleaded not guilty to the charges brought by the prosecution. After hearing stories from five witnesses, brought by the defense, the seven women jury found the accused not guilty, with their decision announced shortly after 3 a.m. February 1st 2017. 

The hearing, presided over by substitute Magistrate Manuel Mata, was in relation to an exchange of shots between the accused, Bruno Mackenzie Jamal Lisandro and Erick Valiente on March 13, 2009, on Avenida Balboa.

Following the trial Viteri told the media that “Justice was done” while leaving the Second High Course of Justice where he was released and greeted by relatives.
