Delays continue on Bridge of the Americas

The work on the Bridge of the Americas continues as Public Works officials report that they do no have an end date for the construction.

Motorists crossing the bridge have expressed frustration as sometime crossing can stake up to 2 hours with only one lane open, and the others under repair.

Panama’s Chamber of Commerce has approved government measures  to alleviate city traffic in the weeks leading up to Christmas, these measures include revised hours for government employees and the suspension of construction projects on roads and bridge. They have also called for more traffic police to be on duty.

The Chamber of Commerce has encouraged the private sector to collaborate, ways they can do this include modifying work schedules and allowing people to work from.
