Body of missing child found near Taboga

Authorities have found the body of a 5-year-old child this morning, Tuesday, September 13th off the coast of Taboga. The young boy was helping his sister who had fallen into the storm drain when he was swept away on Sunday.

While his mother tried to rescue him, she was unable to pull him from the water as the runoff was rushing after strong rains hit the area.

The child’s body was reported by a group of boaters near the island around 8:00 a.m. after which the aero-naval authority, Senan retrieved the body. After the body was retrieved it was taken to the patrol station at Brisas de Amador where Senan Commissioner, Joe Laneado, reported that family members identified the body as that of the missing child.
