Panama competes in the 2016 ISA World Surfing Games
Surfers from Panama are currently in Playa Jaco, Costa Rica competing in the 2016 ISA World Surfing Games.
The World Surfing Games 2016 started yesterday Saturday August 6th and will continue until August 14th.
26 countries are competing and 28 delegations present. The countries at the games are: Argentina, Australia, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Denmark, Ecuador, France, Guatemala, Ireland, Italy , Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Russia, Scotland, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, Uruguay, USA and Venezuela.
The Panamanian team is made up of José Broce, Diego Salgado, Jhonny Alfonso, Jean Carlo Gonzalez in the Mens open category, taking place this today, Saturday August 7th. Enilda "Samanta" Alonso and Johanny Alfonso are surfing in the women’s open. Traveling with the team is coach, Raul Stanford and Alirio Carles, president of the Panamanian Asosiación Surf (APS).
