Moving into the Olympic Village

Panama’s delegation for the 2016 Rio Olympic games has been announced as the Panamanian flag is raised in the Olympic Village.  Other important announcements included the clothing Panamanian Athletes will be sporting at the games and Panama’s official flag bearer.

Athletes David Muñoz and Atheyna Bylon can be seen here trying on the new track suits. 200 meter Champion Alonso Edwards will hold the honor of being Panama’s flag bearer for the 2016 Rio games.

 The Panama Olympic Committee (COP) reported that the head of commission, Marcos Ostrander will travel Rio de Janeiro Saturday July 30th and arrive in the Olympic Village the morning of July 31st to open the housing sector for Panamanian Athletes and coaches.  It was reported that gymnast, Isabella Amado will be the first athlete from Panama to arrive in the Olympic Village. The COP confirmed that the national delegation will be composed of 25 people; 10 athletes and 8 coaches.

While several delegations, including Australia and Argentina have showed their displeasure in the conditions of the Olympic Village lodgings, finding other accommodations in nearby hotels, others, such as Slovenia, were satisfied.

Athletes Muñoz and Crespo will be the first to see action in Rio in the disciplines of shooting and swimming.
