People's Climate March

For the first time Panama will join in an annual global march advocating for action against climate change. The event takes place each year in major cities all over the world.

The events slogan “to change everything, we need everyone, everywhere, indicated the need for global participation in creating change when it comes to the planets health.

Panama will take to the streets November 29, with up to a million marching demanding actions from national and global leaders. The march will coincide with the UN Climate Change taking place in Paris.

The event, which took place last year before the UN climate change summit brought 700,000 from around the world together. They were joined by cabinet ministers, politicians and members of the UN. In the months following the march Europe aimed to reach a target of  a 40% reduction in carbon emissions by 2030. The US and China also made strong commitments to degrees emissions.

This year join the People’s Climate March in Panama City. The event will begin in Parque Urraca at 2pm continuing down Avenida Balboa, to the fish market ending on the Cinta Costera. The day will come to an end with a free for a concert.
