Fundación Agua y Tierra Wins Golden Frog Award
Fundación Agua y Tierra (FUNDAT), in English the Water and Earth Foundation, has won the 2016 Golden Frog Award sponsored by the Odebrecht Engineering and Construction International.
FUNDAT is an environmental foundation under the leadership of biologist Jacinto Rodriguez focuses on the conservation of sea turtles on the beach of Mata Oscura. The group is made up of volunteers dedicated to protecting the sea turtles nesting in the area, by patrolling the beaches, creating safe nesting sites, and recording data.
The foundation takes home the third Golden Frog Award, receiving a grant of $6000 to continue their conservation efforts and create more awareness for the conservation of marine ecosystems.
This Golden Frog Award, sponsored by Odebrecht Engineering and Construction International, was aimed specifically at Community Base Organizations (CBOs) like FUNDAT.
