Festi Harpía 2016

The harpy eagle, the national bird of Panama will be commemorated this weekend, Sunday April 10 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the 11th annual ‘Festi Harpy’ at the Summit Municipal Park in Panama City.

The event is a family affair. Among the attractions offered are presentations, educational information on environmental protection and food stands, says Consuelo Cambra, the executive director of Friends of the Harpy Eagle Patronage.

Kids can enjoy painting competitions and costumes focused on the harpy eagle. The costumes, will be made from recyclable material. The art competition will offer young participants the materials to create drawings.
There will also be inflatable games and face painting and other surprises.

The cost of general admission is two dollars; for retirees and students, a dollar, and for children under five is free.
