Panama reduces duration of Covid-19 quarantine

The Ministry of Health announced, that they will reduce the duration of the quarantine to 5 days for people who have contact with a positive case but show a negative coronavirus test.

According to the document, Resolution 3132 published Tuesday, December 28, 2021, a person who has had contact with a positive case should undergo a rapid antigen test after exposure and keep quarantine for 5 days from the date of contact.

At the end of this period, another test must be performed; if it is negative, it will have completed its quarantine. 

However, if the test is positive they must remain in isolation for 10 additional days, which was previously, 14 days.

To date, 26 cases of Covid-19 with the Omicron variant have been detected in Panama.

Until yesterday, Monday, December 27, 6,946 active cases of Covid-19 were reported in the country.
