Construction stops on Panama’s Beach Corridor
The second phase of the beach corridor project, from Santa Cruz to San Carlos. will not go into construction. The Ministry of Public Works (MOP) spoke to the companies that would carry out the design.
MOP decided that the companies FCC and Cicsa will carry out the design, despite the fact the new highway overpass for the Pacific beaches of Panama will not go to the construction phase.
MOP will pay $ 14.6 million for the design of the second stretch of the beach corridor. In total the second part will cost $ 349.9 million.
The first section is 32 kilometers long.
It will be reduced to a 6-kilometer viaduct between La Espiga and the Los Calderones ranch, in La Chorrera.
