Panama closes beaches and rivers from Dec 23 - Jan 4
The Ministry of Health (Minsa) announced today that the closure of rivers and beaches in the country will start Wednesday, December 23, and not this Friday, as originally communicated.
According to the communication, swimming pools and social areas of private developments may remain open, while complying with the curfew from 7:00 pm to 5:00 am, which comes into effect on December 18.
It was stressed that crowds should be avoided. The Ministry of Health prohibits gatherings of more than 10 people. Fines for offenders range from $ 10 to $ 100,000, depending on the severity of the offense with increased fines for repeat offenders.
These measures will be in force until January 4, 2021, right now. However, according to Minsa this could change.
