Complaint against Panamanian President

A complaint against the President of the Republic, Laurentino Cortizo , was filed in the National Assembly (AN) for the alleged commission of the crimes of alteration of public order.

The lawyer Abdiel González presented the complaint and explained that it originates from the statements Cortizo gave on December 9 about his intention not to stay at home in the event that he was infected with Covid-19.

In an official ceremony, Cortizo said: “and if at some point I came out positive, from the hand of God I am going to raffle it, but I am not going to stay at home. They didn’t make me stay home. I like to go out, see people, talk to them ”.

González considered it necessary to carry out a psychological evaluation of the president at the Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences, to determine if he is fit to continue leading the nation.
