Monday, August 17th will bring new openings for Panama including retail, salons, car sales and even inbound flights for national and residents. However, The Vice Minister of Commerce, Omar Montilla, spoke to the opening ensuring it would not be without precautions.
With quarantine still in effect, all shopping will still need to be done within ones designated hours. Services like beauty salons and barbershops will be able to serve clients, but only by appointment, with screens between each cubicle and without exceeding 50% capacity.
Likewise, the sale of vehicles and the opening of retail stores will be allowed but with reduced capacity or with curb-side pickup. Montilla referred to retail shopping malls, highlighting that they may open but for specific purchases and services.
Regarding salvo conductos, Montilla specified that all employers must manage the required document for employees on the MICI website.
