Fashion Week 2019

Fashion Week Panama 2019 (FWP19) took to the ATLAPA Convention Center October 17th until the 19th, with more local and foreign designers than ever.

This year, there was everything. The catwalks, of course were a stand out and the afterparties, as always events not to be missed. It was really amazing to see how strong some our our national designers are becoming. 

National Designers that were at this year’s event were: 

Lidia Minota, Pilar Sainz, Marciscano, Sousa Pitti, Tatiana Uliantzeff, Valar, Darcé, Dayra, Natalie Müller, Moises Sandoya, Flamant Swimwear

And the International Designers showcasing there were in Panama were Lsla & White from the Dominican Republic Julia and Renata from Mexico, and Down to Xjabelle by Isabella Springmühl from Guatemala. 

But this year FWP took on more than just the glamorous, it also tackled the idea of ​​sustainability, which is currently having a big impact on the fashion industry. The 2019 edition held training areas that focused on ethical fashion. with topics like responsible marketing, production methods and empowerment and economic sustainability For the woman.

FWP19 also highlighted a ’Fashion Spot’, this is a space within the commercial area of ​​the event used for the staging of commercial fashion runways, the area also exhibited plastic arts. This space offers the an opportunity to work with brands, that could not previously showcase their work at the show. 

Finally one area of Fashion Week that continues to strengthen, but is not always talked about, the photography. This year behind the lens were some big name photographers and also some Coronado locals!
