Monday July 1st Holiday in Panama

July 1st 2019 will be a mandatory rest day in Panama due to the inauguration of the President-elect, Laurentino Cortizo.

The free day as confirmed by the Ministry of Labor and Work Development (Mitradel) is based on Article 46 of the Labor Code, which establishes that national holidays are compulsory rest days. 

Those days are as follows: 

January 1 (New Year), Carnival Tuesday, May 1 (Labor Day). The 3, 5, 10 and 28 of November (national holidays), the 8 (Mother’s Day) and December 25 (Christmas). Finally added to the list of National Day is the day of possession of the president elect of the Republic.
