The Parade of a Thousand Polleras 2019

Las Mil Polleras, is an annual parade that takes to the street of Las Tablas in the month of January. This year the 9th edition of the event took place January 12th 2019.

If you have never seen a Pollera in person, the traditional dress for of Panama, your missing out! To see just one is spectacular. Their detail, and delicate construction unmatched. However, to see a thousand is an entirely different experience. This is something that can only be experienced at the Parade of a thousand Polleras. 

This year the parade brought not only tradition, but luxury to the town center of Las Tablas. The parade brought visitors from all over the world, many of whom were in Panama for the upcoming World Youth Day. 

Fag-bearer is Osvaldo Ayala, received the flag from the Minister of the Tourism Authority (ATP), Gustavo Him and the governor of Los Santos, Yina de Barrios, opened the Parade starting from the grounds of the Palacio de Gobernación Moisés Espino. 

The event growing each year is an opportunity for Panama to show of their traditions, and open the world’s eyes to Panamanian music, dance, food and culture.
