Suspect in Soho Mall Rolex heist apprehended
A male suspect was apprehended on Wednesday September 19th for his believed involvement in the robbery of 17 Rolex watches.
The pricy watches were stolen from the store, Mercurio jewelry store, located in Soho Mall, on Calle 50 on Wednesday, August 29, by man with a gun who threatened the staff and stole the watches with an approximate value of 107 thousand dollars.
A suspect was captured less than a month later in the province of Veraguas. The man was detained in an operation executed by Primary Care Section of Betania, Ancon, Bella Vista and San Francisco, in conjunction with the Judicial Investigation Directorate (DIJ) and National Directorate of Police Investigation (DIJ) of the National Police.
According to the the preliminary investigations reports, the accused was also involved in another robbery that took place in the Samsung store located in Betania. At the time of his capture, the apprehended man still had in his possession one of the Rolex watches reported as stolen.
