Changes in the hours of usage of the roads improved traffic to Panama

The provincial director of the Authority of Transit and Land Transportation (ATTT), Oreste Del Rio , described as positive the change in the hours of use of the roads which began last Wednesday, in order to streamline traffic to Panama city.

Del Rio said that last Wednesday, when they began to apply the new process, that many  drivers who unaware of the change in schedule. However, he stressed that this improved markedly on Thursday, when greater fluidity was observed.

The official said that although the lane changes are scheduled till  8:00 am, it may end earlier. "The measure will be determined by the movement of cars at the time," concluded the director of the ATTT in Panama West.

However, drivers residing in Panama West, point out that they are still getting up early at 3:00 am to get to work early instead of being late.

The estimated time from Panama West during peak hours during heavy traffic is almost two hours.
