Large fire in Aguadulce

A fire broke out a little after 7:45 pm, April 28, at one of the stores located on Rodolfo Chiari Avenue in Aguadulce, Coclé province.

Firemen of the provinces of Coclé (Aguadulce, Antón, Natá and Penonomé); Herrera (Santa María) and Veraguas (Santiago) responded to the call and went to the Bayan Store to extinguish the flames.

Bystanders saw smoke coming from the roof of the commercial building and called the  bombaros

Update:

The explosion of a transformer could be the cause of the fire on Saturday night, however, inspectors of the National Directorate of Fire Safety, Prevention and Investigation (Dinasepi), the Fire Department of Panama , are carrying further investigations to identify the causes of the fire.

According to unofficial information, the fire originated in the back of the warehouse.

Citizens in the area immediately called the Aguadulce fire deptartment  after hearing the rumble of the transformer and saw smoke coming out of the store.

According to one of the shareholders of the business, the losses in the clothing store could be in the order of $600k.

Agents of the National Police guarded the area in order to avoid vandalism and merchandise theft.
