Panamanian oboist in Germany
A young Panamanian musician will fill 110 places in the Internationale Junge Orchesterakademie (IJOA) of Pleystein, Germany.
The Internationale Junge Orchesterakademie (IJOA) is a renowned symphony that brings together youth from all over the world. The chosen youth receive intensive classes and workshops, putting on a concert tour annually.
The Panamanian, Leopoldo Magallón, 28, was selected after sending a video in to the group, he is one of 12 Latin Americans (Peru, Venezuela, Colombia and Honduras) in the group composed of youth from 30 countries.
The IJOA receiving teachers from professional orchestras in Germany and the Franz Liszt Weimar University.
"They are in charge of the section essays and master classes in which you present a concert and they help you with interpretation techniques", explains Magallón from Pleystein.
Youth will also experience six symphonic concerts in several German cities, like Munich, Weimar and Leipzig.
They will also record a professional recording to be used for fundraising for the program of children with cancer in Pleystein.
The IJOA has offered some 540 concerts in Germany and other European countries in 24 years.
