25lbs gas tank strike suspended

Distributors of the 25-lbs gas tank subsidized by the government planned to strike Monday, March 5th, 2018, in an effort to convince the government to raise the price of the tanks.

The strike was promptly called off by noon on Friday, March 2nd, following the government’s response that they “would not submit to blackmail.” 

According to The National Secretary of Energy, the distributors heard the Government’s demand, and they will continue providing service. The National Secretary of Energy tabled the suspension of the service a “pressure measure” that would take millions of Panamanians  that rely on the tanks hostage”
