Law preventing harassment approved

The president of Panama, Juan Carlos Varela has approved a law establishing measures to prevent and prohibit discriminatory acts, such as sexual harassment, bullying, and racism.

The law seeks to protect the right to work under conditions of equity and establish public policies to prevent such acts, in accordance with established human rights agreements ratified by the country.

The document, published today in the Official Gazette under the name of Law 7 of February 14, 2018, explains that 
The Ministry of Education, the State University of Panama, the Ministry of Social Development and the Ministry of Labor and Labor Development will be  in charge of promoting educational programs and evaluating the progress of the law.
