Cable and Wireless service interupted due to vandalism in Cocle

Cable & Wireless telecommunications services were interrupted on Thursday, December 28, in the areas of El Chirú and Coclé, because their primary copper network was vandalized.

Nearly 500 clients (residential and commercial) are affected by the vandalism of the network located in the area of Farallón, province of Coclé impacting voice, internet and data services.

A statement from the company indicates that so far the criminals have not been arrested and that corresponding complaints have already been presented to the Directorate of Judicial Investigation (DIJ). The company reported that it has had losses in excess of $20K.

Cable & Wireless Panama has said that the technical staff is working to restore the services as soon as possible, and reminds its clients to report any suspicious activity of vandalism through the telephone numbers 800-2666/67 or the * 966.
