Companies to bid on consulting contract for Idaan

Three companies submitted proposals to provide assistance and technical advice to Idaan for operational and commercial management in the metropolitan area of ​​Panama.

 ACEA-Panama Consortium, FCC Aqualia SA and Barcelona General Water Society submitted their proposals that will be reviewed by an evaluation commission that will determine which of them will be awarded the tender.

The winning company must meet the following objectives in various  short, medium and long-term phases: improve water coverage rates, continuity of service, billing and revenue generation, optimize the operation of water treatment plants and distribution networks; In addition to developing a master plan for drinking water for the region as well as reducing excessive drinking water  consumption.

A total of 253,932 Idaan users maintain a debt of $ 71.9 million. In addition, 46.7% of the water produced by Idaan is lost due to leakage problems in the system. Idaan is scheduled this year to re-outsource the drinking water service, which until 2016 was in the hands of a private company
