Fuel Tanker Flipped near Coronado

A fuel tanker has flipped on the Pan-American Highway near Coronado in the Chame district, right before the entrance to Las Lajas. The truck flipped early Monday morning closing all four lanes of the highway for some time.

As of 8:30 a.m. traffic was being diverted through Cabuya to Las Lajas in both directions. It is unclear when traffic will be flowing normally as the equipment needed to clean up the gas spill needs to come from Panama City. Expect traffic throughout the day going both ways on the Pan-American Highway.

Currently the Fire Department and National Police are placed at the accident to direct traffic and prevent major incidents.
