Invasion Victims Remembered

At 7:30 a.m. Tuesday December 20th relatives of victims and officials met at the Garden of Peace to remember victims of the US invasion of Panama.

The US invasion of Panama took place 27 years ago. Today an event lead by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Luisa, representing the government of President Juan Carlos Varela remembers those affected.

 

In addition to the relatives of victims the event was attended by members of the Commission of the 20th of December 1989. Relatives, as in previous years, requested that December the 20th be a national day of mourning.
